Historical Fiction is a collection of reworked pieces from the Renaissance and Baroque periods, compiled for an imagined state occasion. The pieces are arranged in Christian Forshaw's trademark style, stripping the pieces back to the basic elements and presenting the music in an expansive way. The pieces are linked together with newly composed interludes based on elements from the main repertoire. Grace Davidson's crystal soprano interweaves with Christian Forshaw's saxophone, supported by a rich bed of sound from the organ.
